Some things to laugh at :
Approximately 3590 cadidates from OUTSIDE MAHARASHTRA gave exam for Pune university in year 2008. Total seats for national level is 2 (you heard it right, only two). And they declared the seat intake after the result (what a joke). That means almost 1795 students competing for 1 seat (at national level) . Ratio 1795 : 1.- Maharashtra students, if want can also take seat in national level quota.
- Fee for Outside Maharashtra candidates (2 seats) is double as for remaining students.
- After declaring the result on their website, they changed the merit list stating "initially declared merit list stay cancelled".
- Some Pune University reserved candidates with negative marks this year (2008) will get through the admission process.
- No two students from the same state/U.T can get admission together according to ordinance even if merit list permits. e.g. once a student from Delhi get admission there, no other student from delhi stand a chance for admission.
- Now when some students must have booked the tickets from north booked the tickets to go to pune, they have postponed the admission just before 4 days of schedule.
- As far as my information, last year 14 seats were there for National level and candidates upto 32 rank got admitted. This year its completely uncertain due to so many factors.
- The university is one of the best till date with the advantage of being near IT City, Pune. Very good infrastructure with only deserving student getting there. Everything will change from this year onwards as the admitted students get restricted to Maharashtra only.
- Average pay package goes to 6.5 lakh per annum (highest compared to any other institute)

i totally agree wid u...dis is such a big drama that these people cnduct every year...kash maine ye pehle padh liya hota!!!!! i got 34 rank in outside maharashtra general category n i dont k9 wt to do...n dis yr dere are only 5 seats
